Second Half Century (1950-present)

Around 1950 there was a great proliferation of new breeders.The breed became popular and changed dramatically from an aristocratic type to a serviceable type. Dog shows became popular with a middle class that had more disposable income and leisure time. Families took up the sport of breeding and showing dogs as a hobby. Soon bloodlines were dispersed over the whole country and regional types started to emerge.
